Character Interview: Experiment X

Character Interview.
Alex Turner.

The room is lit in warm light from a corner lamp that sits just beyond the couch. He smiles and hands the interviewer a cup of hot coffee, steam still wafting lazily from the top. He invites the interviewer to sit down, and asks him to just ignore the fake leg that he has sitting on the coffee table before them.

Interviewer: Okay, first things first. What is your name and occupation?

Man: Alex Turner and I was a soldier.

Interviewer: Where does your loyalty lie with everything that is going on? With the Experiments I mean.

Alex: It is with those whom I love. *smiles*

Interviewer: So, much do you really know?

Alex: More than I would care to admit, so I won’t.

Interviewer: What happened to Tim Cortex, Jack’s father?

Alex: I do not know. I thought he died shortly after returning home, but Jack says he was murdered at the Lab. I wish I knew what he had been up to all those years in-between our return and then.

Interviewer: Do you know anything at all about your brother, Connor?

Alex: Not much *shrugs* Seriously, I lost most contact with him after the explosion.

Interviewer: So, was there really an explosion?

Alex: *laughs and points to the prosthetic and then to his missing leg* Clearly.

Interviewer: Why haven’t you told Karen?

Alex: To protect her. I would do anything to make sure that she is safe. She is more powerful than any of us could possibly imagine, but she needs the right teacher so she can control her abilities. That teacher, is not me. As much as I wish it were.

Interviewer: What do you think about Jack?

Alex: He’s a good kid. *laughs* He’s not a kid, he’s a great man. Tough. Strong. Most certainly a leader, he’s gonna go far.

Interviewer: But, is he the right teacher for her training?

Alex: Honestly, between us. No. Ryan Kline is.

Interviewer: Last one. If you could kill anyone who would it be?

Alex: *eyes narrowed, arms crossed* My brother.
